Pearl’s Books

Brand Identity, 2021

pearlsbooks.com
Pearl’s Books is an independently owned bookstore in the heart of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Daniel and Leah Jordan, the owners of Pearl’s were my friends from college and I was very excited to work with them on this brand.

I worked with them to create a welcoming brand identity with a hometown feel. The color palette is warm and approachable, and the script wordmark feels at home on any Main Street. The brand typeface, Clearface, has editorial connotations without feeling too serious.

The centerpiece of the brand is the P/book icon. The overall shape is a book, with the bottom end of a bookmark resolving the icon into a P letterform. It is memorable and scalable, providing a key element that the rest of the brand is built around.
